FoxAgent license for software vendors

You sell your VFP application to many customers and do not want to manage a FoxAgent license for each one.

FoxAgent inside your installer, on your customers' machines.

The license a software house uses to ship FoxAgent alongside its own application. One per company, traveling inside your installer and covering every customer and every site, with no machines or seats to count. If you only develop with FoxAgent on your own box, the Developer license is the one you want.

Who it is for
  • Software houses
  • Silent install from your own installer
  • Customers with several sites
  • Machines with no internet access
One-time payment, 1,999 € One per company Unlimited instances and tools No activation, no internet

What you get

One per company, not per customer

No sites, machines or seats to count. The same license ships inside your installer and covers every installation of your application.

Installs in one line

Your installer runs the FoxAgent one silently and hands it your license with /LIC. The customer sees no dialog and copies no file.

No caps

VFP instances registered with the Broker and your own tools are unlimited. Without a license FoxAgent starts in evaluation: one instance, one custom tool.

Offline, and nobody switches it off

It is validated locally against the public key inside the binary. The customer machine needs no internet access, there is no telemetry, and there is no remote revocation.

Your company in the audit log

Every line the Broker writes at every site carries your company as holder, the license id and a short hash of the file. That is what you quote to support.

The customer machine, locked down

The installer writes the machine policy with the runtime profile: the tools that reach tables and projects on disk are switched off on that box, and the agent cannot raise its own role from the chat.

How you deploy it

  1. 1
    Package it

Put the FoxAgent installer and your foxagent.lic inside yours. That installer's build date has to be on or before your maintenance end date.

  2. 2
    Install silently

Run it with /VERYSILENT, /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES, /NORESTART and /LIC pointing at your license. The Broker reads the license only at startup, and a silent install starts the service on its own: /LIC puts it in place before that moment.

  3. 3
    Check one site

On the customer machine, http://localhost:7400/license must say mode Licensed, kind Runtime and your company as holder; and /policy, policyTrusted true with profile runtime.

Frequently asked questions

How many do I need?
One. The Runtime is per company, not per customer or per site: the same file ships in your installer and covers every installation of your application.
Can I put a Developer license in my installer?
No. A Developer license is bound to the machine you install it on (to its machineId), so on a customer box it does not apply and FoxAgent starts in evaluation. Two licenses for two different things.
What if a site never gets the license?
FoxAgent installs and runs the same, in evaluation mode: one VFP instance and one custom tool. The second instance that starts is refused, and only the first UDT is exposed to the agent. Nothing is broken, the file is missing. Run your installer again with /LIC, or copy foxagent.lic next to the Broker and restart it, because the license is read only at startup.
What happens when maintenance ends?
The license is perpetual; what expires is the right to new builds. The ones you already shipped do not change: a license whose maintenance ended in 2026 starts the 2026 build in 2030 without a word. A build compiled after that date does start in evaluation and says so (mode MaintenanceExpired). Both ways out are yours: package the earlier build, or renew and hand out the new foxagent.lic.
Does the Runtime grant the agent any rights?
No. The license lifts the instance and tool caps, and nothing else. How far the agent reaches is declared by your application when it connects (0 your tools only, 10 your screen, 20 the process behind it, 90 raw VFP), and the machine policy sets the ceiling. It does not authenticate anyone either: FoxAgent has no users.
Does it cover the MCP host when Golem starts it?
Yes. A FoxAgent license belongs to the machine it runs on, never to the technician, so it makes no difference whether the MCP host is talking to an AI client installed there or to your Claude through the Golem agent. On your customers' machines your Runtime covers it. What you pay per technician is the Golem seat.
Does it need activation or internet?
No. No activation, no phone-home, and no internet on the customer machine.
