Let someone help you with your computer

If you have spoken to your technician on the phone and they asked you to come here, this is everything you have to do. It takes two minutes.

Before you go on, read this

This lets another person see and use your computer. Only do it if you made the call, or if you know for certain who is at the other end. Nobody from your bank, from Microsoft, or from a company you did not call has any reason to ask you to open this page.

While it lasts, a red button is always in sight that cuts the connection instantly, without asking anything.

The three steps

  1. 1

    Download the program

Press the button above. If Windows asks whether you want to keep it, say yes.

  2. 2

Open it with a double click

A window opens and tells you what it is doing. There is nothing to fill in.

  3. 3

Read your technician the twelve numbers

The window shows twelve digits in three groups. Read them out on the phone, or paste them into the chat: they are already copied.

How long it lasts, and what stays behind

Will they be helping you more often?

Then this other one suits you better: it asks once what kind of computer this is and leaves a shortcut on your desktop. Next time you only have to double click there. If you are not sure what to answer, choose "I don't know" and it will let you choose every time you open it.

For your technician

The twelve digits are typed into the Golem client. If there is no short number, the window shows the usual connection line underneath and works just the same.
